About Me
Welcome! My name is Alexa Kitay, and I am a rising junior in the Honors College at UD. I am a passionate psychology major and human development minor, studying to be a future clinical psychologist.
Along with mental health advocacy, horses are my passion. I have been riding since I was 8, and have grown more competitive over the past few years. My horse's name is Tommy, and he is my world. This is where my interest in photography began. I enjoy playing photographer at the barn and at horse shows. I love to capture not only the performance, but also the special moments between horse and rider. However, all my knowledge about photography comes from experience and the internet. Through this class, I hope to learn more about the photo editing process: proper lighting, backgrounds, and color. I shoot at many different scenes that require me to change modes (sports mode, portrait, etc.); therefore, I want to know how I can adjust my camera for various scenes to improve the photo quality. Additionally, I have mainly focused on photographing horses and people, so I want to expand away from those and explore other uses of photography.
